 1. Application background

Oil pipelines have the characteristics of large diameter, high pressure and large conveying capacity. Due to the gradual aging of the anti-corrosion coating of the pipeline, sudden natural disasters, and the phenomenon of artificial drilling and oil theft, oil leakage occurs from time to time, which is a serious threat. The safety of the oil pipeline transmission line has resulted in a series of serious consequences such as loss of crude oil, environmental pollution, and shutdown of production and transportation.

The traditional method of detecting oil pipeline leakage is often through detectors and manpower patrols. Due to relying on manpower, the oil pipeline cannot be fully monitored in real time, so it cannot effectively ensure the safe transportation of pipeline lines. Wireless communication can be used. The terminal's oil pipeline online monitoring system enables leaks to be detected in time, and remedial measures can be taken, so as to reduce the economic loss of enterprises and reduce environmental pollution.

2. System overview

The oil pipeline monitoring system is a new type of pipeline monitoring system that is reliable and easy to operate. Mainly include precise positioning and intelligent monitoring.

(1) Accurate positioning of the leak site

The system classifies and identifies the pipeline operation status, quickly and accurately predicts the pipeline operation situation, and monitors pipeline operation failures. It has strong resistance to harsh environments and noise interference, and can adapt to the responsible industrial site.

(2) Intelligent monitoring

The system has established a detailed knowledge base, which records all kinds of situation information, extracts several characteristic points for each working condition, and these characteristic points accurately record the relevant information. The original condition in the library is compared to determine whether there is a potential problem.

The system is composed of hardware equipment such as remote measurement and control terminal based on CAIMORE 3G/4G network and industrial monitoring configuration software. The system is roughly divided into the server, engineer station and operator station in the central control room, remote monitoring and control terminals DTU/RTU in each oilfield pipeline valve room, communication network system and some on-site monitoring and control instruments. Its main structure is composed of four levels: central server management system, communication system, remote measurement and control terminal DTU/RTU and acquisition terminal.

The system adopts a computer-based monitoring and data acquisition system. A control system is set up in the dispatch center, and a set of oilfield pipeline remote control system consisting of CAIMORE 3G/4G DTU/RTU of the main station is set up. The tasks of diagnosing, monitoring and data acquisition of the oil pipeline line control system can be completed in the dispatch center.

3. Introduction of oil pipeline valve room

The valve room intrusion alarm and access control switch are all monitoring of switch quantities. The collection of integrated transmitters such as pipe temperature, pipe pressure, ground temperature, combustible gas concentration, battery power, etc. has upper and lower limit protection, sudden alarm, timing Upload and send functions.

(1) System function

The main functions of the oilfield pipeline valve room remote monitoring system are completed by five parts: power supply, wireless communication, data monitoring, isolation protection, and computer centralized monitoring.

(2) Power supply

Due to the special location of the oilfield oil pipeline valve rooms, they are all in the wilderness and the site environment is relatively harsh. They are all unattended places, and there is no lighting circuit in each valve room on site, so the instrumentation and control cabinet power supply in the valve room adopts solar energy. Rechargeable or battery powered.

(3) Communication part

At present, the distance of oil pipelines is relatively long. The distribution of valve chambers is relatively scattered. Due to the long communication distance, the system adopts wireless CAIMORE 3G/4G network. Real-time monitoring of the running status of field equipment is realized, and data communication between personnel, control center and equipment is realized, so that technicians and managers can get the data of each monitoring point no matter where they are, and can carry out Respond promptly.

3G/4G DTU/RTU is a measurement and control unit installed on a remote site, responsible for monitoring and controlling on-site signals and industrial equipment. It converts the measured state or signal into a data format that can be sent on the communication medium and transmits it to the central server, and also converts the data sent from the central server into commands to realize functional control of the equipment.

(4) Data acquisition and remote control

3G/4G DTU/RTU system is used in the remote monitoring system of oilfield oil pipeline valve room, which completes the functions of data acquisition, automatic control, parameter storage, real-time communication, fault alarm and other functions of unattended station of valve room. Local control can be completed independently, or it can be controlled by the monitoring center.

(5) Data collection

Upload the pipeline pressure, pipeline temperature, ground temperature, battery power, combustible gas concentration and flow, valve room access control and water inlet switch start and stop status, alarm parameters, inspection records, etc. of each station to the central monitoring center. 

(6) Monitoring part

Accept the command of the monitoring center, and can set the time, parameters and programs of the remote valve chamber DTU/RTU through the master station DTU/RTU, and actively upload and display data. 

(7) Parameter storage

Store accumulated flow, fault parameters and other important parameters such as pipeline pressure and temperature, and export historical records.

(8) Fault alarm

Complete the alarm of exceeding the limit of operating parameters, burglar alarm, and self-diagnosis alarm of equipment.

(9) History

Users can search for historical records according to time periods; historical records will be drawn on the window in the form of curves, and historical records can be displayed in the form of a list below the window. Through the historical records, the operating status of the equipment and related trends can be viewed; at the same time, the historical records of the query can be Export to EXCEL table.

4. Conclusion

In the oilfield pipeline valve room monitoring system project, because the data transmission part of the communication network uses wireless CAIMORE 3G/4G DTU/RTU terminals, the data collected by the sensor and the images and videos collected by the client equipment are passed through the 3G/4G DTU/RTU It is transmitted to the server control center. The control center is responsible for saving and managing all real-time data, historical data and alarm information. After analysis and judgment, the instructions are sent back to each sub-monitoring point through wireless 3G/4G DTU. Through such monitoring technology, staff can detect leakage, theft and other situations in time, and can take measures quickly, thereby greatly reducing the loss of profits, realizing the automation of unattended monitoring, improving the safety and automation level of the entire pipeline system, and reducing the cost of The labor intensity of workers' inspections is more accurate, and the measurement is more accurate, which prolongs the operation cycle of the equipment.
